150 taxi operators withdraw from Goa Miles scheme say they were cheated
Touted a being Goa’s answer to Ola and Uber, Goa Miles – the ambitious online taxi service App of the Goa Tourism Department appears to have run into glitches in the first week of its much-hyped launch.
Over 150 taxi operators of the reported 300 taxi operators who had registered on the Goa Miles App have decided to withdraw from the scheme alleging that the were cheated.
The taxi operators also tendered an unconditional apology to the North Goa Taxi Union and South Goa Taxi Uniob for their error in believing in this initiative of the government.
Goa Miles was launched with much fanfare and promise by the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar earlier this week. However, social media has been abuzz about the Goa Miles App and so far it has not got a promising feedback from users of the App.
