Activist criticizes CMs stand on RTI
Pointing out that while the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar had vigorously used the Right to Information Act, Adv. Rodrigues has expressed anguish that Manohar Parrikar was now directly and indirectly attempting to scuttle the RTI Act.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that Manohar Parrikar was now feeling the heat as various illegalities and acts of maladministration of his government have been exposed through the Right to Information Act.
Accusing the Chief Minister of misusing his power and authority in trying to circumvent the Right to Information Act, Adv. Rodrigues has alleged that Manohar Parrikar was attempting to keep the administration under wraps so that the public should not sniff the illegalities of this government.
Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the Right to Information Act already provides safeguards as to what information can be divulged and that governance should be open and transparent.
On Manohar’s Parrikar statement on misuse of RTI, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that the laws were well equipped to take care of it and penalse any misuse.
Vowing to leave no stone unturned to expose every illegality and abuse of power by the government, Adv Rodrigues has stated the government cannot be allowed to conceal its wrong doings and get away with their misdeeds.
Meanwhile Adv. Aires Rodrigues has hailed the decision of the Central Information Commission bringing the political parties under RTI Act as a step in the right direction which was long overdue.
