AIMIM Corporator Sayed Matin arrested on charges of spreading communal hatred

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 18 (UNI) All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator Sayed Matin has been arrested by the city police on the charge of allegedly spreading communal hatred,fomenting riot and using offending language in Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) house during the special general body meeting
convened to condole demise of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Matin, who was beaten by irate BJP-Shiv Sena corporators for allegedly refusing to pay tributes to late Mr Vajpayee, was arrested by the City Chowk police on Friday night.

Three separate cases on behalf of AMC deputy Mayor Vijay Autade, AMC security and BJP leader’s driver Vilas Gorale have registered cases against Matin at the City Chowk police station on Friday.

After being beaten by BJP-Shiv Sena corporators, Matin came out of the AMC meeting hall and delivered a provocative speech to a mob of his supporters, who became angry and went on rampage. They pelted stones on parked four-wheelers of BJP leaders in AMC premises as well allegedly beat the driver of a BJP leader.

Matin has also filed a counter police complaint in the same police station against three BJP corporators including deputy Mayor Autade, Rajgurav Wankhede and Pramod Rathod who allegedly beat him.
