ATM robberies in Goa an International racket: Kashyap
An international racket could be involved in ATM thefts reported in Goa during last few months. Many people in the state have lost their money in the last few months. The latest case was registered last week wherein over Rs 7 lakh was stolen after hacking ICICI ATM in Porvorim.
The Cyber-crime cell suspect it is a handiwork of a racket operating from Goa, London and Bulgaria.
Karthik Kashyap, SP in-charge of crime and cyber crime, told media, that their investigation so far indicate that it is the job of an international racket. All the three ATM thefts in the last few months, crime branch suspect is the handiwork of the same racket.
Last month, a similar case was registered wherein ATM data was stolen by using a skimmer and a hidden camera at the Dena Bank ATM in Panaji.
Kashyap, said their investigation revealed the theft was committed from London, whereas another case was reported from Anjuna, pointed at transactions being carried out from Bulgaria
