No ‘Ebola Virus’ watch on Nigerians at Goa Airport

While Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata and Kochi airports have been put on alert by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MH&FW); Goa has been kept out-off the Alert Airport List, even though Nigerian tourists among the list of probable carriers of the Ebola Virus and the state sees a considerable number of Nigerian tourists.

Two more police complaints filed against Tiatrist Tousif

Following the complaint filed by one Devidas Basu Gaonkar at the Margao Police station, two more complaints have been filed against Tiatrist Tousif Sheikh of the ‘Akantvadi Goent Naka’ fame by Manohar Borkar at Curchorem Police Station and Dinesh Mayekar at the Vasco Police Station.

RBI Rules: Only 3 Free Transactions at other ATM Banks

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has reduced the number of free transactions at automated teller machines (ATMs) of banks other than a customer’s own bank to three a month from the earlier five. Any additional usage will attract a maximum levy of Rs 20.

The Supreme Court has sought response from the Centre and states on a PIL seeking a ban on sale of cigarettes, bidis and cigars claiming that every year, India spent more on treating cancer caused by tobacco products than the revenue it earned from their sale.

Complaint filed against Tiartrist Tousif for insulting Hindus

Tiatrist Tousif Sheikh of the controversial drama ‘Akantvadi Goent Naka’ has now got a criminal complaint at the Margao Police Station against him for deliberate and malicious acts of intention to outrage religious feelings of Hindus by insulting their religion and religious beliefs under Section 153-A, 153-B, 295-A and 298 and others by Devidas Basu Goankar.

HC puts ‘Mining’ back in gear

The Bombay High Court has ordered the state government to execute 28 mining leases where the stamp duty had been collected. 

Sources in the mining sector have revealed that these 28 leases include mining leases of Sesa Sterlite, Fomento Resources and VM Salgaocar.
