Yet Another Ticket Scam at Goa ODI?

Even though the courts in Goa are yet to pronounce the order on the infamous ticket gate scam of 2001, local media hinted at another scam of duplicate tickets for the 27th October match that was washed out.
According to reports in the local media, a complimentary pass and a ticket priced at  2,500 have the same gate No. 3, the same seat number being F-004 and the only difference is the serial number which is 32639 on the complimentary pass and 09149 on the ticket.
Another complimentary pass No. 32663 and ticket No. 09173 have the same gate number and the same seat number.

Buyao Rocks Konkani Released


Buyao Rocks Konkani, the latest album from Buyao Theatres Goem was released at a glittering programme held at Pai Tiatrist auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on Thursday evening.
PWD Minister Churchill Alemao who released the album reiterated his support to Konkani and its protagonists specially the tiatrists while Sidhanath Buyao who has produced the album confessed that in this album he has tried a different genre of music.
The CD release was preceded by a musical programme paying tribute to founder of Buyao Theatres, Goem, Goem Sahir late Ulhas Buyao whose songs were sung by Sidhanath Buyao and Nephie Rod.

Political Interference Hampering Municipalities

That political interference was hampering municipal functioning in the state was the general consensus at a debate titled Municipolity organized by a local news channel Goa 365 at Margao on Thursday.
Former Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council Piedade Noronha revealed that the council is not at all independent and has to approach the Directorate of Municipal Administration for its NOC over every matter.
She also lamented the discriminatory approach of those in power ranging from the chairperson of the council to the minister for Urban Development which she said results in the council not being able to live up to the people’s expectations.

Jose Philip Tried to Kill Me: Micky

Ex-Tourism Minister Micky Pacheco in a statement given to the Vasco Police said that his party colleague and Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza tried to kill him during the ugly incident at Vasco on Tuesday evening.
He said that Jose Philip hit him with a chair and that he was lucky he had dodged it. “I would have even died if the said chair, which was aimed by Jose Philip at my head, had to hit me,” he said in the statement.

Law & Order’s Breakdown Proof: Manohar

Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar termed the fight between Jose Philip and Micky to be evidence of the total breakdown of law and order in the State.
He pointed out that as per the laws of the land, Jose Philip should have lodged a complaint with the police if Micky was distributing money. “However, he did not do that and instead took the law in his own hands,” he recalled.

Fight Masterminded by Jose Philip, Reveals Aide

In what could be a very damning statement, an aide of Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza has revealed that the whole incident of Tuesday was manipulated by Jose Philip who lured Micky to Vasco apparently to settle scores with him.
Rohan Vaz, a resident of Vasco revealed that he was asked by Jose Philip to call up Micky from his cell phone and to lure him to Vasco by stating that he wanted to ditch Jose Philip and cross over to Micky’s camp.

Traffic at many places was in disarray as police began checking vehicles as part of the exercise which was last conducted in October last year.
Traffic snarls were the order of the day at major junctions and panic gripped different places as stories of bombs began floating around since the authorities had also planted fake bombs at some places to test how the agencies react to such incidents.

Vasco Police on Wednesday booked cases against Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza and former Tourism Minister Micky Pacheco following the ugly incident of Tuesday evening wherein the former is accused of manhandling and assaulting the latter.
Incidentally although neither Jose Philip nor Micky filed any complaint with the police, their supporters lodged the complaints based on which the cases have been booked. While Jose Philip has been booked for rioting and disturbing the peace, Micky has been booked for distributing money. All the cases registered are bailable offences.
