BJP in a huddle over Goa, Ram Lal sent as ‘crisis manager’
Panjim, Sep 16 (GCNews) In a bid to find a solution forward to the current crisis brought on by the unexpected seriousness of the ailment of current Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in Goa, BJP High Command has sent its National General Secretary Ram Lal and National Joint Organising Secretary BL Santosh to meet local BJP leaders and alliance partners.
BJP Goa Unit President Vinay Tendulkar confirmed that the team headed by party’s National General Secretary Ram Lal was expected to arrive in the state in the afternoon.”Ram Lal will arrive in the afternoon. He will meet senior party leaders and coalition partners to decide future course of action,” he said.
The senior party leaders would be meeting officials of the state unit of the party, coalition partners and independent MLAs who have extended support to the party, sources said.
Though there is no clarity over the next course of action by the coalition partners but a proposal was mooted that Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, who is leader from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), an alliance partner, be made Deputy Chief Minister and officiating chief minister. However, the proposal was rejected by Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vijay Sardessai, who is President of Goa Forward Party (GFP), another coalition party.
