Centre to decide on ‘Terror Tag’ for SS & HJS in 45 Days

Giving its response to a proposal put forward by the Maharashtra government, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) will be taking a decision within 45 days on whether to declare Sanathan Sanstha (SS) and Hindu Jangruti Samiti (HJS) as a terrorist organization and ban them; this was revealed yesterday to the Bombay High Court.

Interestingly, while Maharashtra government has put a proposal to the MoHA, which has been forwarded to the Unlawful Activities Prevention Tribunal, which will take a final decision after hearing all parties, including SS and HJS; Goa government has remained silent on the Sanstha issue even though investigative reports and NIA sources opine about the role of the SS in the Margao bomb blasts.

Investigations also alleged raised up questions of the involvement of the MGP leaders – Dhavlikar brothers and family members in the Sanathan Sanstha, who has its head-quarters in Goa. The Dhavlikar brothers are currently a part of the BJP-MGP-GVP government alliance.
