Chowgule College Founder’s Day Celebrated
Motherhood has been a whole new experience to Nandita Das who now has a one year old son Vihaan. Speaking on her experiences as a mother she said, “Motherhood has been such a wonderful experience. I’m now being able to look at the world through my son. Children have such a fascination for ordinary things, it’s truly amazing. This is a new phase in my life and I’m enjoying every moment of it.”
Founder’s Day celebration also honored its faculty and students by presenting awards in various categories. Dr. Devavshish Bagchi, Director of Physical Education was awarded for his outstanding performance in corporate life and building positive public relations for the college. Dr. Nandakumar Sawant was honored for his outstanding performance in research and publication. The college acknowledged the hard work put in by Dr. Gunaji Desai for extracurricular activities related to students, while the Hira Wagh Award was presented to students Purushotttan Verlekar and Aliya Abreu for all round achievements in college activities.
Principal Dr. R. V Gaonkar said, “Our founder, Vishwasrao Chowgule was committed to creating a centre for excellence in the field of education. In keeping with his vision we are constantly innovating to offer students the best in terms of academics, infrastructure, teaching skills and thought leadership. While academics is extremely important, we lay an equal emphasis on instilling sound values, inspiring higher thought and motivating our students to achieve success to the best of their abilities.”
