Former BJP Sports Minister under Tax officials radar
Former sports minister Ramesh Tawadkar on Saturday alleged that the income tax officials conducted a search of his residence on Thursday as he had decided to contest the Lok Sabha polls.
He said the income tax officer questioned him regarding the affidavit he filed before the election commission for the recently concluded polls.
Tawadkar said the I-T officers told him that his properties exceeded than what was shown in the affidavit, but he provided them with all the documents.
He alleged that it was politically motivated as he had contested the assembly elections as an independent.
