Four shops burgled in Margao

Unknown persons broke into four shops in Margao late Friday night and decamped with cash and goods. On Saturday, only one of the shop owners filed a complaint with the Margao police.

The owner of the hardware store in Khareband, Pankaj Pai Kakode, stated that his shutter had been bent anytime between 8pm on Friday and 6.30am Saturday. The Margao police said items worth 89,000 were stolen and included an LCD player, laptop and 18,000 in cash.

Two other stores at Khareband and one near Cine Lata in the old fish market area were also burgled. The Margao police have booked offenses under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC against unknown persons.
