Goa minister terms domestic tourists ‘scum of the earth’
Goa Forward Party Supremo and Goa’s Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardesai termed ‘domestic tourists’ as ‘scum of the earth’ and cautioned ‘North Indians’ that he would not allow them to ‘create a Haryana in Goa’.
Speaking at the Goa BizFest in Bambolim, Sardesai urged Goa’s Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to attract foreign and upper-class Indian tourists.
Sardesai said, “Today we have almost six times population of Goa coming as tourists. Those tourists are not top-end tourists, they are also the scum of the earth. If you compare Goans to rest of India, we are high in per capita income, social and political consciousness, we are much superior than people who are coming in.”
