Goa Tourism all set for World Tourism Day 2018

Panjim, Sept 25 (UNI) Goa Tourism is all set for World Tourism Day on September 27, 2018, and has lined up a variety of activities and programmes to celebrate the day.

According to a statement here on Tuesday, this year World Tourism Day is themed Tourism and Digital Transformation and all the initiatives undertaken by Goa Tourism revolving around digital transformation which has helped Tourism achieve great heights will be showcased across all platforms.

On September 27, Goa Tourism will be organizing various programmes which will begin with the warm welcome of tourists at the Goa International Airport, Dabolim, along with a brass band and distribution of flowers and sweets. Tourists will also be welcomed at the Konkan Railway Station, Margao, on Thursday morning.

An entertainment boat cruise trip has been arranged for special children on the Santa Monica. Students from Hatma Vishwas School for special children, Tuem, Parsem and Lok Vishwas Pratishthan’s School for Special Children, Davli, Ponda, will be attending the boat cruise ride packed with fun, games and entertainment.

Similarly World Tourism Day will also be celebrated at St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, followed by Hop on-Hop off bus tours arranged for entertainment of school students.

During the day Quiz contests will be held at the Directorate of Art and Culture, Panaji, and Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. There would also be an Elocution competition at Multipurpose Hall at the Department of Arts and Culture, Panaji. A drawing competition would be conducted at Fine Art College, Panaji. A three day “Tourism Expo” at Goa Science Centre and Planetarium, Miramar, would also be organized.

The 11 day Paryatan Parv celebrations will also conclude with the key focus on cleanliness and hygiene at tourists spots in Goa.

Goa Minister for Tourism Manohar Ajgaonkar and Minister for Power and Chairman of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Nilesh Cabral extended warm greetings to the people of Goa and all visitors to Goa 

on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
