Goa Tourism to kick-start ‘Paryatan Parv’
The Ministry of Tourism, Governmen of India, and Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, in collaboration with IHM-Goa and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) are all set to organize ‘Paryatan Parv’ commencing from September 16 to 27, 2018.
This is the second year that Paryatan Parv is being organized after a successfully edition last year.
According to a statement here on Friday, the objective of the programme is to draw focus on the benefits of tourism showcasing the cultural diversity of the state and reinforcing the principle of ‘Tourism for All’.
Menino D’souza, Director of Tourism, Government of Goa, said, “Paryatan Parv is an interesting event which will interest the local Goans and tourists on various aspects of tourism in the state of Goa. The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, invites one and all to participate in these different activities which will go a long way in developing and promoting sustainable tourism in Goa.”
The event, which envisages large scale participation from the general public as well as industry stakeholders, will begin with a Heritage Walk organized at the heritage precincts at Mala, Panaji.
A series of programmes and activities will be organized during the eleven day long ‘Paryatan Parv’ which will include a Rally on Tourism, Nukkad Natak, Run for Incredible India, Hygiene awareness among tourist, street food vendors and other unorganized sector stakeholders and Sensitization in neighborhood about Atithi Devo Bhava.
A Flash Mob program, Trek to Mhadei River at Valpoi are some of the other interesting activities during the ‘Paryatan Parv’.
