Guv Refers Lokayukta Bill Back To State, IAC Demands Reasons

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Wednesday informed that State Governor S Sankarnarayanan has referred the Goa Lokayukta bill back to the state government without his consent. He was speaking on the sideline of National Press Day celebrations held at Kala Academy.

He further informed that the bill has now been referred back to the law department for examining the queries raised by Raj Bhavan.

It may be recalled that Special secretary to the governor, N Radhakrishnan on Monday had informed that the bill was referred back to the government due to some queries that he had refused to elaborate on.

Meanwhile, India Against Corruption (IAC) Activist Satish Sonak demanded that the queries made by Raj Bhavan should be made public by the State Government.

Sonak suspected that there is a possibility of delay tactic in Raj Bhavan referring back of the bill to the state government.
