I have done nothing wrong: Pratapsingh Rane reacting to outbursts against ‘toilet cleaner’ statement
Refusing to apologize for his ‘toiler cleaner’statement referring to the kind of jobs NRI Goans do abroad, Pratapsingh Rane, a former Chief Minister of Goa stated to certain sections of media that he has said nothing derogatory about Goans and felt that the strong reactions to his statement was a planned attempt to malign his image socially and politically.
“This is wrong, they are trying to malign me for no reason, I have not said anything derogatory against Goans or anyone. I meant to say that Goans irrespective of where they work they should have better quality jobs and I deny having said what they are attributing to me,” said Rane while speaking to a local Goan newspaper.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar has critised the statement of senior Congress leader Rane. Mahila Congress President in Goa Pratima Coutinho too has demanded an apology from Rane and yesterday some Congress leaders in a Press Conference have demanded that the Congress high command take strict action against the former Chief Minister for his insulting statement against NRI Goans.
