KTC Asked to Implement Sixty Pay Commission
In a memorandum submitted to the Kadamba Transport Corporation, the Goa Government Employees Association on Tuesday demanded that all the recommendations of Sixth Pay Commission, pending since January 2006 be implemented forthwith.
The memorandum has demanded that 25 per cent balance arrears from 1st January 2006 to 31st March 2010 be paid to the workers.
Interestingly the KTC has implemented the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations with regards to 1,900 employees in April last year and this has created an additional liability of Rs 1.75 crore per month for the corporation.
The KTC had agreed to pay 25 per cent of the arrears and the balance amount would be paid over a period of ten years.
Giving a deadline of one month to the management, the memorandum has also demanded that bonus denied to the 500 workers affiliated to the union for the last financial year, be released.
