Ministers, BJP leaders meet with Parrikar at the hospital
Senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as well leaders of alliance partners Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) called on Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at a private hospital at Candolim in North Goa on Friday.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the former Defence Minister, GFP President and Cabinet Minister in the BJP-led government Vijay Sardesai said,””CM’s health is good. I had come to enquire about his health and to wish him all the best for Ganesh Chaturthi. He had gone to his ancestral place. He has sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
Sudin Dhavalikar, MGP leader and another cabinet colleague of Mr Parrikar, said, “He (the chief minister) is doing work.”
Besides Sardesai and Dhavalikar, BJP State Unit President Vinay Tendulkar, Union Minister for AYUSH Shripad Naik and BJP State General Secretary Sadanand Shet Tanavade also called on the chief minister.
However, on the question of change in leadership the leaders said there was no need to do so as the chief minister was doing work from hospital and clearing files.
”When he is doing work, where is the question of taking charge,” Dhavalikar said though adding that he did not have any problem with any decision taken by the BJP on leadership issue.
Meanwhile, according to BJP sources, central party observers were likely to visit the soon to assess the situation.
The Chief Minister retruned to state on September 6 from the US but was working from his private residence near the city. It was for the first time after that that he met party leaders and cabinet colleagues.
