In the first place, National General Secretary Jintendra Deshprabhu who is involved in an illegal mining scam has been dropped as a permanent invitee to the State Executive Committee.
Senior Vice President Ulhas Naik, whose appointment in the first place, had evoked a very strong reaction has also been dropped and so also Vice President Trajano D’Mello who was also the spokesman of the party in Goa. Minority Cell in charge Salim Sheikh has also been dropped.
The new committee was announced by Bharati Chavan, in charge of Goa who said it was constituted after taking all party workers into confidence with an aim to strengthen the state unit.
Incidentally, Deshprabhu had alleged that Chavan was appointing people to different organizational position after taking money from them.
NCP Goa unit President Surendra Sirsat revealed that Praful Patel had written to Deshprabhu to maintain party discipline and advised him not to use the media to ventilate his grievance in future.
