New Church Marketing: Eat Samosa, Be with Jesus Christ
I grew up listening to wonderful stories. One wonderful story was of Jesus multiplying the two loaves and fishes for his disciples.
I was stumped this morning when I read about residents of an Agra slum alleging that a Christian group asked them to embrace the religion is exchange for better education, better homes and a better lifestyle.
A resident Maya further revealed that they gave the resident samosas and told us to convert for the sake of our children’s education. A passerby so this and intervened. As soon as this happened the Priest removed his robes and changed into plain clothes it was reported by ANI Media.
I do not believe in forced conversion or cajoled conversion in any form, from any religion. And I often fail to understand the need to spread or force a religion on another person.
I bet no Christian can say for sure whether they are going to heaven or hell. They might throw Biblical scriptures at you but they fail to understand the basic message of Jesus’s enlightened teachings, “To love God with all your heart and soul”. Second, “To love your neighbour as yourself”.
I am stumped when a follower of Jesus actually thinks he is far more blessed than another person who might be a Hindu or Muslim. I wonder if they have read the Bible and several parables where Jesus hints that not everyone who says ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of God but one who does the will of God.
I do not think Jesus wanted to spawn a religion, he wanted people to follow a way of life. He was spiritual man.
The Catholic Church on the other hand is a religious institution and its needs numbers to survive. Like the Catholic Church other Christian sects also need numbers to survive. Numbers increase their fold and their contributions.
But I am not here to change the workings of any religious institution. I believe Jesus or any God who people believe would not care if your are a Hindu, Muslim, Christian or an atheist as long as you are a good person and respected other humans and nature. If they had a problem, then they are not Gods.
Love, kindness and peace are the only measures of God in you.
The matter must be investigated and if found to be true must be dealt with firmly.
