NIA Opposes Blast Accused’s Plea
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has strongly opposed Margao bomb blast accused Dhananjay Asthekar’s plea seeking permission to answer his engineering examinations in Kolhapur stating that it is too risky.
Besides, Special Public Prosecutor S B Faria argued that the accused has been in judicial custody for offences of a serious nature attracting death
penalty and pointed out that the accused did not seek the Superintendent of Jail’s permission before filling up the form to answer the exams which are scheduled to be held from 9th to 13th May.
He also pointed out that the accused being an engineering student had misused his knowledge in making circuits to trigger the blasts.
Dhananjay is scheduled to answer his fourth year engineering examinations through the Shivaji University at Kolhapur.
Orders on the application are scheduled to be given on 5th May.
