Night club owner murder: 2 accused brought to Goa, remanded to police custody for 8 days
The Goa Police team which had gone to Karnataka to take custody of the two accused of murder of a hotelier which took place on Tuesday, returned on Wednesday.
According to Calangute Police Station Incharge Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, the team returned at Calangute Police Station along with both the accused persons– Umesh Rathod alias Lamani and Daya Shankar.
Immediately they were placed under arrest by Calangute Police, he said.
Dalvi informed that the post-mortem examination was conducted over the victim’s dead body at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, and the cause of death was certified as haemorrhage and shock caused by stab injuries.
The dead body was handed over to the family for final rites. Police conducted the forensic examination of the accused persons and statements of the witnesses were recorded, Dalvi said, adding further investigation was in progress.
The police officials also informed that both the accused were produced before JMFC Mapusa which remanded them to eight days police custody.
A nightclub owner, Vishwajit Singh, was killed on Tuesday allegedly over an issue of a bike taken without permission of the victim.
A team of Goa Police had left to Gadag in Karnataka to obtain the custody of the accused persons
