No regrets against filing complaint against Churchill: Kawthankar

Taking serious cognizance over the complaint filed by NSUI Goa president Sunil Kawthankar in his personal capacity against Congress Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao in the water-tank distribution scam, the Congress party has initiated an inquiry into the breach of party conduct which is being headed by general secretary Sudhakar Reddy.

Post meeting with Kawthankar yesterday, Reddy told the media that Kawthankar has regretted his actions. However when spoke with Kawthankar he refuted the claims of the general secretary saying that, “I do not regret filing a police complaint against Churchill Alemao, but I told Reddy that if due to my actions the party is disappointed on account of the negative publicity it is receiving then he regrets that bit of it which is an unfortunate situation.”

Kawthankar further added that he will not relent on the charges he has made against the PWD minister and even take the matter to court as he believes that corrupt ministers like Churchill Alemao must be brought to book.

However, what is surprising to note is the action being adopted by the Congress party, especially when Kawthankar has not acted in his capacity as a NSUI president but as a common citizen.
