Not a rosy picture for the ‘Family Raj’ demands
Sources close to the AICC president have revealed that the party President is against the attempt being made by certain political families in Goa to hijack the entire operations of the Goa political scene and using the umbrella of the Congress party to achieve its ambition. Moreover the politicians such as the Alemaos, Naiks and Monseratte who are the forefront of this blackmailing and pressurizing tactics have not found favor in the eyes of the AICC president.
Similarly, Rahul Gandhi too detests the kind of mercenary politics being played in Goa and in particular the large scale corruptions charges against the Congress ministers, therefore he has put his foot down on the demands for tickets to two prominent youth members Sankalp Amonkar and Pratima Coutinho much to the dismay of the strong local political lobbying to not give them a ticket. And in keeping with his aim to bring new and credible faces to the Goa political scene, he is to take a final call on the selection of the candidates and this might surprise a few expecting candidates, which is why there is a delay in releasing the list of candidates to curb any unrest on the announcement.
