Speaking to GoaChronicle.com, SP (Crime Branch), Dr O P Mishra stated that 27 cases related to prostitution have been detected by the Goa Police and its units so far. The department has identified and listed 100-odd massage parlors operating at various places some of which include the raided premises. Police have also listed parlors which are operating without license, employing foreign girls on tourist visas and violating the norms set by local authorities.
“Physical verification of all massage parlors has been made by the local police stations in their respective jurisdictions,” Mishra said. He also added that a plan has been proposed to stop rampant prostitution happening in the guise of massage parlors located in the coastal belt.
