In a shocking display of frustration over the current predicament of his daughter Valanka Alemao’s disqualification show-cause notice, PWD Minister Churchill Alemao threw to the wind the dignity and honor that comes with being the elected member of the Goa Legislative Assembly and stooped low to threatening and abusing Sankalp Amonkar, the out-going Goa Pradesh Youth Congress (GPYC) President.
It is learnt from informed sources that the PWD minister feels that GPYC former president and some youth members are responsible for the current predicament of his daughter, since some GPYC members had sent a written complaint to Indian Youth Congress head-office in particular to Rahul Gandhi.
When GoaChronicle.com spoke to Sankalp Amonkar over a telephonic conversation to confirm this incident, he did indeed confirm that the PWD Minister had indeed had personally called him around 3.30 pm today, threatened him and even hurled abuses on him on account of the disqualification show-cause notice that was issued to Valanka Alemao. “I think this behavior is totally unbecoming of a senior Cabinet minister especially towards me, since I have been working for the Congress party as a youth member and leader for many years. If some Congress youth members had certain grievances against his daughter and took the matter to our High Command in Delhi how can I be held accountable for that, everyone has a right to seek answers to their grievances.”
While the action of the PWD Minister has come as a rude shock to former Youth President Sankalp Amonkar, he did not confirm nor deny whether he would raise this issue with the Indian Youth Congress High Command in Delhi.
