Regret Toppling Parrikar: Micky
“I regret toppling the Manohar Parrikar government as Goa lost the best chief minister it has had in recent times,” said Micky Pacheco while talking to media persons at his residence on Saturday.
Having been a part of both the Congress led and earlier the Bharatiya Janata Party led government, Pacheco said Manohar’s administration was “class” and added that none of the other chief ministers who succeeded him could match his performance.
“Everything is bad,” he retorted when asked what was bad in the present government saying that he could speak for hours about what is going wrong at present.
Practically everyday some scam or the other in some department or the other is being exposed, he said.
He said Speaker Pratapsing Rane’s statement that Dum Maro Dum was reflecting the reality in Goa, was an admission that the police department had collapsed and said that the Home Minister should have resigned.
He also accused Chief Minister Digambar Kamat of adopting different yardsticks when it suited him. “Even though I was not involved in any manner, the Chief Minister asked me to resign when police registered a case against me over the Nadia issue,” he said while wondering why the Chief Minister is now supporting Babush Monserrate even though a central agency has booked cases against him for what amounts to “smuggling”.
