Shiv Sena demands President’s rule in Goa
Shiv Sena in Goa demanded that the state should have President’s Rule so that at least Centre could take over and provide some relief to the people dependent on the mining industry.
In a statement here, Shiv Sena Goa spokesman Rakhi Prabhudesai Naik said the recent statement by Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai that state was going through emergency like situation was disclosure of the affairs which Goa was currently going through.
‘In absence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the State is left headless, and deserves to be ruled by President of India through his emissaries.
There would not have been a problem, if state was facing normal circumstances. But the state is left headless. It is facing the closure of the mining industry and there is no one to speak for the interest of the people dependent on this industry,’ she said.
Stating that racing against the time, the people dependent on mining industry were trying their level best to get the required attention but they were only served with the ‘fake promises and melodramas’ of delegations going to Delhi, she said,’There is no solution provided to their problems and certainly, under current situation, we can’t expect the solution to come from three member Cabinet Advisory Committee which is least bothered about the people.’
‘Those who know state’s politics will admit that leaders like Vijai Sardesai and Sudin Dhavalikar cannot share the meeting. There can never be unanimity between them on any of the issues. That is why they have not even held a meeting to discuss the situation that may arise after mines are closed,’ she claimed.
‘People cannot dependent on BJP leaders for any solution as they are left inefficient in absence of Parrikar,’ she said.
