Sitting Goa Ministers lie about their Educational Qualifications
GoaChronicle.com exposes the lies filed in the Election Affidavits 2012 filed in by some of the current ministers in the government. A comparative analysis of the Election Affidavits filed 2007 by the same ministers for the Goa Assembly Elections and the one’s filed for the current election do not match or have a continuity in their education…
Manohar ‘Babu’ Azgaonkar of the Congress party who is the Minister for Sports, Government of Goa in his Election Affidavit in 2007 clearly states that he has passed the tenth standard from the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Mandir in Satorda, Maharashtra on April 26th 1964. But in the recently filed Election Affidavit for the Goa Elections 2012 from the Pernem Constituency he has mentioned that he has passed SSC from Seva Samitt’s Jaycee managed night school in Margao in 1977.
Nilkanth Halarnkar from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) who is the Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa in his Election Affidavit in 2007 clearly states that he has passed the Twelfth Standard from Dhempe Higher Secondary School, Panaji in 1978. But in the Election Affidavit for the Election 2012 he states that he passed Eleventh Standard from Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, Bicholim Goa in 1979.
Yet another NCP minister, Jose Philp DeSouza who is also the Minister for Revenue in the Goa government, in his 2007 Election Affidavit stated that he passed Twelfth Standard in Commerce, but he failed to mentions the Institution from which he passed-out. But in Election Affidavit 2012 he clearly states that he has passed Eleventh Standard from MES Higher Secondary School in 1980.
Joaquim Alemaos 2012 Election Affidavit states that he is Sixth Standard passed from the St Mary’s School in Varca but in Election Affidavit 2007 he has mentioned that he is a Seventh Standard passed from the St Mary’s School in Varca.
Similarly Babush Monseratte states that he is SSC passed from St Theresa High School in Bandra, Mumbai in the 2007 Election Affidavits though investigations into the matter by Advocate Aires Rodrigues revealed that he passed only Seventh Standard for that school. But in the Election Affidavit of 2012 he mentions that he has passed Senior Secondary Education from the Council of Education, Mohali in 2009.
The question GoaChronicle.com is raising that the above mentioned names are Ministers in the government, who are further contesting the elections on their party tickets and if in their recently filed Election Affidavits their lie has been nailed by their own admission in the Election Affidavits they have filed for the Goa Election 2007, will the Chief Electoral Officer sit up and take-notice of the lies filed.
