Wife Kills Husband with Lover’s Help
The murder of Cheluvaraju, a 32 year old employee of a garment factory in Bangalore, came to light four months after the heinous act as his mother worried about his long absence approached the police, while the wife did not just bother.
Cheluvaraju was living in a rented house in Nittagere with his wife Nagaveni who was nearly 19 years younger to him, along with their two children. As Cheluvaraju took to the bottle, his wife developed illicit relationship with one Shivakumar who owned a laundry.
On learning about this relationship, Chelavaraju began beating his wife. On 2nd May Nagaveni got her husband totally drunk and when he passed out into a drunken stupor, her paramour Shivakuar along with his friends strangled Chelavaraju and then buried the body at Gantakandoddi.
However, worried that her son had not visited her for nearly four months, Chelavaraju’s mother began to make enquiries and when her son’s neighbours too confirmed that they had not seen him for nearly four months, she went to the police.
While initially police suspected that Chelavaraju might have died in an accident, on learning about the discord between the husband and wife, they kept a watch on Nagaveni and when she was brought in for interrogation, the crime came to light.
The body of Chelavaraju has been exhumed and sent for forensic analysis.
