2/3 Congress MLAs to merge into BJP in Goa

Panjim: In a shocking move that will bring the number of Congress Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from 15 to 5 MLA in the 40-seat Goa Assembly and send shock waves across the Congress supporters in the state, 10 MLAs have approached the Goa speaker and submitted their decision to merge the 2/3 MLAs with the BJP

The Congress MLAs led by the Leader of the Opposition Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar along with Atanasio (Babush) Monseratte, Jennifer Monseratte, Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Isidore Fernandes, Tony Fernandes, Francis Silveira, Wilfred D’Sa, Nilkanth Halarnkar and Clafasio Dias has decided to merge into BJP.

Speaking to Chandrakant Kavlekar, GoaChronicle.com has learned that the Congress MLAs have taken this decision to merge into the BJP in the interest of Goa and to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India through the success of the BJP governance in Goa.

The Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has confirmed the intent to merge of 2/3 Congress MLAs into BJP to provide better governance in Goa.
