2000 Goans cheated of Rs 30 crore!

The Goa Police have arrested a scamster Satyajeet Kulkarni for allegedly duping 2000 people from Goa and neighbouring states to the tune of Rs 30 crore. Satyajit and his wife Vrushali Kulkarni (who was arrested in July, this year) were allegedly duping investors by assuring 15 per cent interest on investment in their film production business.

After a tip-off from a reliable source, a police team was sent to Jaipur, Rajasthan. After strenuous efforts the team managed to trace and apprehend the accused.

Throwing light on the modus operandi of the swindlers, the police said that the accused couple used to publish advertisements in leading local English dailies inviting business plans from for investment in film production called ‘Mangal Sandhya Pictures’. They were running their office under the name of Ram Hari Consultancy services and Radha Krishna Media Events Pvt Lts to handle affairs of the Goa News evening daily and Mangal Sandhya Pictures. They induced people to invest Rs 5 lakh with an assured return of 15 per cent interest per month till June 2014.
