Tourism Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar informed that three companies have applied for setting up a golf course at Pernem, at a press conference on Tuesday. The applications were in response to the advertisement by the Department of Tourism inviting expression of interest by the companies for setting up golf course in Pernem taluka to boost tourism industry in Goa.
“The company will soon be finalized”, said Halarnkar and informed that the government will not invest any money in this project and the company will bear all the expenses including the development and maintenance. He further said that the government will only grant permission and is certain that this project will definitely boost tourism.
Speaking about boosting tourism in the state, he said that the government is taking up several projects including hinterland tourism and inland waterways project.
