A path towards Technology

Shubham Verlekar also known as Corner, is a BA graduate from Parvatibai Chowgule College, Fatorda. He is a musician, an author and a tech enthusiast. Recently, he founded a start-up called GreenBull and is working towards it. In conversation with Ila Dhond, Content Editor at GoaChronicle.com.

GoaChronicle.com: What according to you is a future of Goa?

Shubham: Goa has been exponentially rising. I see a bright future for my state. Having said that, it is only possible when talented people come out and pursue something they actually like. I have seen talented people going shady way and not making use of their potential.

GoaChronicle.com: What were the difficulties you faced during Covid?

Shubham: I do not think it was a difficult period for me. I had a lot of productive time for myself. I also got fired from two jobs which was a blessing in disguise. Resources were provided by MLA. Everything was smooth for me.

GoaChronicle.com: Do you think India is heading in the right direction?

Shubham: I think, India is trying its best to be on a good path considering the current situation. However, it is a democratic country and it is tough for it to do its best as people tend to choose power over talent.

GoaChronicle.com: What according to you, is hindering the growth of India?

Shubham: The ecosystem of how the country is built is quite unsatisfying. There are many intellectuals here but they either do not get a chance to showcase their knowledge or if they at all do get a chance, they are put under pressure by power seeking entities and are prevented from working on their full potential.

GoaChronicle.com: How do you think Goa CM is currently handling the situation?

Shubham: As far as I have understood, he does not know what he is doing. He must re-consider his opinions before making public statements. I am disappointed with the Mhadei River case.

GoaChronicle.com: Why according to you, people are moving out of India?

Shubham: There are many opportunities in India but there are more in abroad. Even I had a chance to move abroad. But I did not. I wanted to do something for my country. I stayed loyal to it. People like me exist who want to contribute in its growth.
