AAP condemn attack on BJP MLA Wagh

The Goa unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has condemned the attack on St Andre MLA Vishnu Surya Wagh on the evening of the state’s liberation day.

In a statement issued on Friday, AAP national executive member Dinesh Vaghela said it is a matter of regret that the attack was allegedly by members of the ruling party because Wagh had attended a kirtan (religious songs) function organized by another political party.

AAP has condemned the “intolerance exhibited by anti-social elements, as it goes against the very principles of democracy and right of expression”.

Reiterating that the party stands against the muscle power that is rampant in politics today, Vaghela said, “Members and volunteers of AAP also faced numerous attacks during the campaign for the assembly elections in New Delhi. But through our peaceful actions and discipline, AAP proved that it is possible to campaign for and win elections without money or muscle power.
