AAP Goa files complaint with CBI for investigations in CDM Smith’s bribery case

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has lodged a complaint with Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) Goa Unit and demanded an investigation against the former Chief Minister of Goa Laxmikant Parsekar and current Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar along with PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavlikar in the US-based firm CDM Smith’s bribery case.

The criminal division of the US Department of Justice indicted CDM Smith on June 21 last year under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) for earning $4 million in profit after employees and agents of the parent and subsidiary companies bribed NHAI officials to clinch highway projects. Additionally, CDM Smith paid USD 25,000 to local officials in Goa in a water project.

AAP Convenor Elvis Gomes said the CDM Smith case is identical to the Louis Berger bribery scam and that strict action should be taken against the accused.

AAP has asked CBI to act within 30 day failing which it will take further action.
