Panaji: About a dozen volunteers of Aam Adami Party (AAP) were arrested on Wednesday when they tried to handover a memorandum along with a packet of coal to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at his official residence in the city.
Speaking to reporters, AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre said they had comet to meet the Chief Minister a pocket of coal and a memorandum but the Chief Minister did not meet them and instead police picked them up and detained.
When the volunteers were not allowed to meet the Chief Minister, they held the protest. They carried placards which read “Goa for Goans, Not for Adani.” Later, Mhambre in a tweet said they were taken to Agacaim Police Station.
