Following two-days raid upon his residential and business premises Benaulim MLA Mickey Pacheco was on Friday grilled by CBI officials at their office Bambolim.
Dressed in white shirt and pant, Mickey Pacheco was cool and calm after the nearly three hour grilling by the officials which was quite in contrast to his appearance when he emerged from the Crime Branch office at Dona Paula nearly two months ago when he was questioned over the death of his ‘friend’ Nadia Torrado.
It may be recalled that CBI sleuths descended upon Mickey Pacheco’s residence and business premises at Betalbatim on Wednesday evening and checked for documents and other evidence till mid-night. On Thursday when the again raided the premises, they seized four laptops, sim cards of mobiles and also froze his bank accounts.
Incidentally, the Crime Branch of Goa Police had also frozen Mickey Pacheco’s bank accounts and the same were released only after the intervention of the court following an application moved by the former minister.
Mickey is reported to have told the officers that his company has sent around 200 people overseas after checking all the documents. However, the overseas recruitment agency has suspended operations as the license awaits renewal.
CBI officials confirmed that the present investigations are following the complaint from US State Department agency and said that they would call on Mickey Pacheco as and when he is required to help the investigations.
