An 18-member team of Indian Army will attempt 6889 Mt Mount Khangchengyao in North Sikkim

Darjeeling: An 18-member Indian Army team attempting to summit the 6,889 mt Mount Khangchengyao in North Sikkim has set up its base camp, a report reaching said today.

The soldiers of the Trishakti Corps, led by Major Ankit and Captain Sanyam Sharma, are expected to climb by October 8, the report added.

Mount Khangchengyao is the 4th highest Peak in Sikkim and 10th highest peak in India.

A deeply respected and revered peak by the locals in Sikkim, Mount Khangchengyao is known as the Male Deity, as per folklore.

The expedition plans to summit Mount Khangchengyao on 07/08 October 2020.
