Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s Information Technology and Tribal Welfare Minister, Ramlal Markanda on Wednesday tested positive for novel coronavirus.
A Twitter post by Markanda confirmed that he was tested positive for nCoV in his report released early today.
Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur, who tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday, expressed concern over Markanda’s health in a Twitter post.
Ram Lal Markanda also attended the Rohtang tunnel Commissioning ceremony on Oct 3 from where Chief Minister, MLA Surinder Shourie, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister R Bhatta and Public Relation Department officials contracted the virus.
The state’s tally currently stands at 17,800, including 2,500 active cases, 14,900 recoveries and 250 deaths.
