Thane: One more complaint of extortion was on Thursday filed against former Thane police commissioner Param Bir Singh and other police officials with the city police station.
The complaint is filed by two men — Sonu Jalan and Ketan Tanna.
Police were in the midst of converting the complaint into an FIR (first information report) but were tight-lipped about whether the offence is registered or otherwise.
Police said that the process was still underway and the offence would be registered soon.
Jalan told the media that the police had booked and arrested Tanna in a case and slapped several charges against him, even though the latter was not in India at that time.
“It is easy for them to slap any charges against anyone. They also extract money from the alleged accused,” he alleged.
Besides Singh, he has named retired inspector Pradeep Sharma, ACP N T Kadam and other agents of the police in the police complaint, he added.
