National Students Union Of India (NSUI) Goa Chief Sunil Kawthankar has decided to contest upcoming assembly elections from the Porvorim Constituency which has been formed after the delimitation.
Sunil who has always been in the limelight for demanding handing of CBI probe into the Police-Drug Mafia nexus wants to now get into politics by contesting in the upcoming elections on Congress ticket.
Speaking to GoaChronicle.com Sunil said he was confident about getting Congress ticket. He said: “I have taken up various social issues in this area and people have been very supportive”.
Pointing out that the party is more important for him than anything else, he said: “Even if I Don’t get Congress ticket, I will be with my party. I will not leave Congress.”
