Are Congress leaders fearing a ‘Parrikar’ Gun?
When GoaChronicle.com asked Tamankar on his change of stance, he remarked that the Congress leaders in particular GPCC president had taken him to task for filing a complaint against Manohar Parrikar. But he did it in the interest of the state and to bring honor to DK Bhave who was an upright man.
This however is not the first time that some senior Congress leaders have tried to curtail all attacks on the the BJP government in particular Parrikar, Jitendra Deshprabhu – the official Congressperson, was categorically told by Shirodkar not the conduct any more press conferences and to not attack the CM and the mining companies for fear of the Parrikar government turning their ire on the Congress leaders like the Ranes, Alemaos, Kamat including Shirodkar himself who are reportedly involved in the illegal mining scam.
“I was told by GPCC president not to conduct any press conference speaking against Parrikar and the mining lobby,” expressed Deshprabhu. He however, having received clearance from Congress high command to speak, prefers to await for the order from the AICC officials to not speak against illegal mining.
