Panjim: Taking cognisance of the issue of around 7000 to 8000 seafarers that are stuck of ships in international waters and providing an assurance to their families that the government is seized of the matter, Chief Minister of Goa Dr Pramod Sawant told media reporters that government is taking measures to resolve the issue immediately.
Dr Sawant in his media briefing stated, “Around 7000 to 8000 seafarers are stuck on ships. Government is trying to resolve their issue. And will take a decision within 2 days.”
The coronavirus pandemic has led to a 21-day lockdown in India, with all transportation – international and domestic channels of air, water and rail have been stopped for the general public unless authorised by the government.
