Jakarta, Aug 26 (UNI) Indian sprint sensation Hima Das clinched silver in the women’s 400m final at the Asian Games while in men’s 400m event Muhammed Anas Yahiya also took silver and Lakshmanan Govindan took bronze medal for the country in the men’s 10000 final at the Asian Games here on Sunday.
Hima had to settle with silver with a National record time of 50.79 seconds the first sub-51 by an Indian. While Nirmala finished fourth clocking 52.96 seconds.
Salwa Naser of Bahrain went on to grab gold with 50.09 seconds while Hima took home silver with 50.79 seconds and bronze went to Elina Mikhina of Kazakhstan.
In men’s 400m Muhammed Anas also bagged silver clocking 45.69 seconds while gold was fetched by Abdalelah Hassan of Qatar taking 44.89 seconds and bronze was won by Ali Khamis of Bahrain clocking 45.70 seconds.
Another Indian Rajiv Arokia finished fourth taking 45.84 seconds.
Lakhmanan clocked 29 minutes 44.91 seconds while gold and silver went to Bahrain’s Hassan
Chani and Abraham Cheroben they clocked 28 minutes 35.54 seconds and 29 minutes 29 seconds.
