Asian Games 2018: India grabs 4-bronze in the Wushu discipline

Jakarta, Aug 22 (UNI) None of the Indian semi-finalists managed to make it into the final of the Wushu Event at the 18th Asian Games and had to settle for Bronze here on Wednesday.

Santosh Kumar 56kg, Bhanu Pratap 60kg, Narender Grewal 65kg and in women’s Naorem Devi 60kg lost in the semi-final here.

The Indian Wushu team had bagged 5 medals in their previous three edition of the Asian Games, but this time they won four bronze.

Santosh Kumar lost 0-2 to Vietnam’s Truong Giang in the semi-final while Bhanu Pratap was edged out by Iranian opponent Erfan 2-0.

Iranian Foroud Zafari defeated his Indian opponent Narender Grewal 2-0 in 65 kg category.

In women’s Naorem Devi lost to her Chinese counterpart Yingying Cai in 60kg category.
On day four India now stands at 7th position with 4 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze taking total
medals tally to 15.
