Asian Games 2018: India’s Sepak Takraw team scripts history by winning bronze medal

Palemburg, Aug 21 (UNI) The Indian men’s Sepak Takraw team may not have had any achievements of note in the past, but it created history at the Asian Games on Tuesday by winning the bronze medal here at the ongoing 18th Asian Games.

The men’s Regu team had already secured a medal after qualifying for the semi-final, but India lost to Thailand in the semi-final and settled for Bronze in the Sepak Takraw in Men’s Regu.

The Indian team started its campaign by defeating Iran 2-1, but in the second match they lost to hosts Indonesia 0-2.

Iran lost two matches following which India entered into semi-final.
