Assembly adopts resolution banning uranium mining in Nallamala forest area

Hyderabad, Sep 16 (GCCurrentAffairs) The Telangana Assembly on Monday adopted an unanimous resolution banning uranium mining in Nallamala forest area in the state.

The resolution moved by Industry and IT Minister K.T.Rama Rao received support from all sides in the house.

Earlier, members expressed concern that uranium mining and also excavation in the Nallamala forest posed a grave threat to farming activities besides causing water and environmental pollution.
