Ban on fish import indicates no-confidence of government in its own Fisheries Minister: Shiv Sena

Shiv Sena in Goa on Wednesday alleged that by imposing ban on fish import in the state, the State Government had shown non-confidence in its own Minister Vinod Palyekar who had earlier made a statement of inspecting fish entering Goa from other states.

In statement here, Shiv Sena Goa President Jitesh Kamat said government itself had accepted that they had failed to provide formalin free fish in Goans rice plate and ridiculed Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane’s invention of formalin being found naturally or Food and Drugs Administration (FDA)’s claim of permissible formalin.

He had accused government of being a ‘murderer’ of ‘Goemkarpon’ by making fish disappeared from Goan diet as Goans were known for their fish, curry rice diet.

He expressed doubt about government’s intention to again give fish business in the hands of fish Mafia once the issue subsides.
