Barring Pak, India has good relations with all neighbouring countries: Jaishankar

New Delhi, Nov 28 (GCCurrentAffairs) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday said that India is having good relations with all its neighbouring countries barring Pakistan.

Responding to clarifications on his statement in the Rajya Sabha on The Government efforts to Promote our Foreign policy focussing on high level visits that have taken place recently’, the EAM said “Pakistan is a unique and different from other countries. With the rest of them, we carry a good rapport in terms of bilateral issues. ”
Stating that ‘Neighbourhood First’ is India’s stated policy, Mr Jaishankar further said that India does not have any problems with Nepal and recently the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had jointly inaugurated South Asia’s first cross border petroleum products pipeline.

While making statement in the House on recent high level visits to promote foreign policy, he assured the House that India’s interest will never be compromised at the time of entering into an agreement or international agreement with any other country.

He said that the country has received diplomatic benefits from the Prime Minister’s recent foreign visits. Pakistan recently tried to raise one of our internal matters internationally but it did not succeed we were able to well convinced all the foreign countries on the issue of Article 370.
